30 Day Spring Cleaning Checklist

springcleaningchNormally I do my spring cleaning over one full weekend. However, this year I decided to put together a 30 day spring cleaning checklist to help relieve some of the overwhelm. Hopefully by the end of the 30 days, my apartment will be completely cleaned and organized. And I can avoid the body pain that comes with a weekend of cleaning.

How to Decorate with Rose Quartz and Serenity

color2016Pantone decided we needed two colors of the year for 2016. Rose Quartz and Serenity are the color pairing. Though the light pink and blue hues remind me of a twin nursery, I know the combination can be translated into a more sophisticated approach. Below are my three tips on how to decorate with Rose Quartz and Serenity…Happy Decorating!

Three tips on How to Decorate with Rose Quartz and Serenity:

  1. Use a lighter hue (ie. White) to act as a separator between the two colors.
  2. Use one color on your walls and the other color on accessories.
  3. Unite the colors by using darker wood stains on furnishings.

Three Monthly Planners That Will Help You Get Organized

Monthly PlannersIt’s that time of the year again. Time to start plotting and planning for a whole new year. I am on the last few pages of my 2015 Day Designer, and I can’t believe how fast time has flown by. It seems like just yesterday I was etching all my goals for 2015 on the fresh blank pages. Now it’s time to start the process all over again.

Finding the perfect monthly planner has always been my first step in starting the New Year off right. In the past, I’ve made my own life planner and blog planner. I’ve even spent the big bucks on the holy grail of agendas {The Day Designer}. (Always continuing the quest to find the right planner for me.) Though I wouldn’t mind shelling out $55 for another Day Planner, I decided to be more economical this time around.

Then, as if the organizational Gods were listening to me {and nodding their heads}, the day after I made this decision I went into target and discovered “The Day Designer Lite”. What is The Day Designer Lite you ask? Well, Bluesky, the planning and organizational company, and Whitney English have teamed up to create a leaner and more economical Day Designer. Basically all the awesomeness of the Day Designer made more weekly instead of daily. Plus, the 8×10 planner is only $19.99. Which makes it a steal.

Monthly PlannersUnfortunately, there were no 2016 planners available at my Target. I decided to check Bluesky.com to see if they were available there. This is where I discovered an awesome array of planners and noteworthy collections. From Nicole Miller to Sugar Paper to Dabney Lee, these planners and accessories are every stylish girl’s dreams come true. In the slideshow below are the three collections I fell in love with. I know one of these collections are sure to fulfill your planning needs.

Three Monthly Planners That Will Help You Get Organized:

  1. Day Designer
  2. Sugar Paper
  3. Nicole Miller

1. Day Designer

I love this planner. Especially the set your goals section. Divided into personal goals, family and friend goals, financial goals and more, this is a great section that will help keep you focused on the big wins, all year long. Features also include, tabbed weekly and monthly calendars with plenty of writing space. A "how-to-use" section, extra notes pages and inspirational quotes help users get the most from the planner. Available in two sizes. 6 x 8 and 8x10. You can also download extra printables for free on the Bluesky website.

2. Sugar Paper

This collection has such a luxe professional finish. Void of tabs, the ribbon woven into the binding makes it easy to flip to your desired page. Each day has ample writing space which gives it a journal feel. Great for writing out daily notes, gratitude and to do list.

The matching document holder is also a must!! The envelop clutch is very stylist and will not only hold your documents and planner but also your iPad {mini or regular}. Great for anyone who works out of their car.

3. Nicole Miller

I’m a big fan of leopard right now. There is something about the print that is very empowering to me. So, you can imagine my delight over Nicole Miller’s entire organizational collection. The clear frosted cover makes it easy to wipe/clean if you are prone to spilling like me. The planner includes tabs and a generous amount of writing space.

I also love the accompanying notebook. I take notes and sketch everywhere I go, so the matching notebook is perfect for that. There are a ton of amazing accessories in this collection. If you are looking to redo your work space, you should really check out the full assortment.

3 Day Juice Cleanse

I’m not a big fan of diets. The thought of not being able to have a donut makes me want to punch something. A bit extreme I know. But then again, I am addicted to sugar. Not the healthy sugar you get from fruits and other natural products. But the refined man made sugar. The stuff that has you itching like an addict if you don’t get your daily fix. My sugar addiction was bad. So Bad, I had major gut issues. Surprisingly, I still weighed 112lbs. I was one of those skinny-fat people you hear about and instantly disliked. I could eat anything and not gain a pound. But I was still unhealthy. Until last year.

After my food and sinus allergies became unbearable, I decided it was time to take better care of myself. I went on a Candida diet for six months. And once that was over, I became a lover of juice cleanses. I knew I wasn’t going to stay away from alcohol and donuts for the rest of my life. So I needed a way to reset and clear toxins after falling off the proverbial {sugar} wagon.

If you are looking for a way to reset your system and/or start a new healthy lifestyle, then juice cleanses are for you. I usually make my own three day juice cleanse {recipe below}. But this weekend I decided to try a store bought cleanse from the Nekter Juice Bar. Every now and then, in the mornings, I have their Greenie juice. So I figured I would them a shot. It felt good not having to pull out my juicer and mason jars. And to be honest, I really didn’t have the time to go shopping and prep all the fruits and veggies.

I did the advice cleanse for two days. Which cost $80 total. I loved all the drinks except for number 6. My taste buds instantly rejected the nutty blend. Other than not liking number 6, it was an enjoyable experience. I had no head aches and a good amount of energy. The price tag is a bit high for me. But you know my motto, “If you don’t have the time, you better have the money.”

If you do have the time and would like to save some cash, feel free to try out the recipes below. I love these recipes. And the best part about making them yourself is that you can add or subtract whatever you like. If you do give these recipes a try, please let me know what you think. And as always, if you have any questions, leave them in the comment box below…Happy Juicing!
